Driving Traffic to Your Blog with Active Social Networking

There are more than 160 million blogs worldwide.
There are 7183195295 people on Earth today (7th of October, 2013), based on Geohive.
Most of these blogs don’t even have fifty daily visitors. You are one blogger with one blog. What do you expect?

It’s difficult to find the golden mean between social media channels and your own blog. By this I mean that your blog just won’t work if you write tons of content but you don’t exist on social networks. The opposite would mean that you are addicted to social networks but not to blogging.

Drive traffic to your blog

You must find the golden mean, your own balance between social networks and writing blog posts, though it must be a reliable balance. If you would like to make money online with AdSense, you need to rely on visitors coming from search engines. The worst thing that can happen is that you stop blogging once and for all and give up on your dreams. You should never forget that there is only one You on this planet.

The best social networks to promote your blog: Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linkedin.

Bookmarking sites I would also recommend: Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, and Technorati.

Using these networks are sufficient to have visible results, though you shouldn’t forget that results will come, but only in time. What I usually do is promoting my blog posts on these networks. I have tried other sites like pumpity.net and chime.in but I don’t have enough experience to comment on these.

What you have to avoid is creating sub-accounts to raise the number of your followers. It wastes your time and doesn’t give you anything. There is no sense to post for yourself because it doesn’t drive traffic to your blog.

With regards to your own blog, try to write about topics where the competition is low or write about very specific topics. For example:
Make money online or Make money online with Google Adsense without your own domain.

I think you know what I’m talking about. I know it’s never easy to drive traffic to your blog.
